Holyrood Residence is located in a neighborhood with more of a traditional character & history city of McLean. The design challenge was balancing a more modern language with the existing context.
The house is placed in a way to maximize daylighting and views out into the large wooded lot.
The architectural material palette looks to traditional materials such as brick and locally quarried stone, while floor-to-ceiling windows and metal wall panels bring a touch of the modern to the project.
A covered outdoor fireplace and grilling area provides a shaded area for the family to gather and share a meal, as the pool provides the perfect backdrop for entertaining and unwinding.
